So You Had a Bad Day

I don't have much to say about the end of Veronica Mars. Though it's sad that it didn't find the audience it needed, maybe it's just as well, though I do feel bad for the people who wanted it to continue. I think I would've grown to dislike it eventually, even though I pretty much love every single character on the show. Because we all KNOW Rob Thomas would insist on putting Veronica and Logan back together and the finale pretty much showed me (again) that they are bad for one another. Veronica told Logan to stay away from that Gorey guy (the one with "connections" that include a father who chops up people) and he went ahead and beat him up anyway, putting not only himself, but probably Veronica as well, in danger. No, that doesn't mean Logan "gets" Veronica's thirst for revenge, TWOP people, it means he's so messed up he doesn't have any sense of self-preservation and doesn't care who he drags down with him. Besides, Veronica's view of revenge seems to be more that it's a dish best served cold. :)
I think Piz is good for her. He's a great guy and truly cares about her. I do think they'd end up breaking up in the long run though. I like the idea that she'd get back together with Duncan eventually. You never truly forget your first love, and I think the two of them are just messed up enough that they could make it work. And yeah, wouldn't THAT be the greatest revenge on Jake Kane? :)
We'll never know what happens, but that's okay. I think I'm better off imagining the future I want for Veronica rather than Rob Thomas's, though I will very much miss the amazing dialog and one-liners this show gave us. "This wetsuit is like a cheap motel--no ballroom." Heh.

Date: 2007-05-24 04:01 am (UTC)I don't like the turn that their relationship made in the series at all... but I kind of think that BOTH Veronica and Logan were character assassinated this year. Yeah, Logan acted like a fucking idiot, absolutely, but don't you think Veronica was just a little unhinged herself? She was just becoming *crazy* and I think that with her psychoprofile there is just no way she would be admitted into the FBI. I liked Piz, but not with Veronica, and you know, it wasn't even because of Logan... it's because I think V ended up being just as fucked up and completely off the handle as Logan.
*steps off her soap box*
